CECHETTI BALLET

Victoria is originally from Ontario, Canada where she was classically trained under the instruction of Patricia Bradshaw and Linda Collins of the National Ballet of Canada, and the esteemed Joanne Fabbri. She studied several styles of dance, including ballet, rhythm and broadway tap, jazz, character, modern, and lyrical.  She completed Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations in ballet and character work, and Royal Conservatory examinations in jazz, tap, and piano.  Victoria was a part of the Linda Collins Dance Company for 8 years.  She spent more than a decade performing and competing across the USA and Canada in various styles of dance. While living in Michigan, Victoria performed professionally as a company member and guest artist with People Dancing and with Randazzo Dance Company.  Some of her dance career highlights include performing with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, training with the “Tap Dogs”, and performing the halftime show for the Toronto Argonauts.

Victoria is a certified teacher member of the Cecchetti Council of America (CCA) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).  She has been privately coached throughout her cecchetti teacher training by Laura McCarthy, current president of the Cecchetti Council of America.  Victoria has sent several students to ballet examinations, with highly commended results.  For more than 20 years, Victoria has shared her love of dance by teaching and choreographing for children and adults of all ages throughout Canada, Utah, Michigan, and Washington.  Her students have gone on to receive university dance degrees, compete, and perform professionally in theatre and dance.  From 2013-2015 Victoria served as ballet mistress and assistant director for The Hoover Street Dance Company.

In addition to dancing, Victoria has performed in several theatrical plays and musicals over the years, including roles such as Tzeitel in Spotlight Player’s “Fiddler On The Roof” in 2006.  In 2010 Victoria co-founded The Penny Seats Theatre Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she served as resident choreographer. She has choreographed several full-length musicals with different theatre companies in Michigan, including The Penny Seats Theatre Company, Spotlight Players, Encore! and Park Players.  Victoria also holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo, and Jiu-Jitsu and has taught Martial Arts and Kickboxing in Ontario, Canada.  During this time, she also choreographed for competitive martial arts demonstration teams in Ontario, Canada.  Victoria graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a business minor.  While pursuing these academic degrees, Victoria served as a teaching assistant in the dance department.  Victoria currently teaches for the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake, as well as at Dance Time! Othello, and enjoys choreographing occasionally for the Othello High School Drumline.  When Victoria isn’t dancing, she enjoys reading, gardening, interior design, and is active in serving as a teacher of the young women in her church.  She is grateful to have a very loving and supportive husband and 5 beautiful children.  Victoria is excited and extremely grateful to be a part of the exceptional teaching team at The Ballet Academy of Moses Lake!

Kerry Aronsohn’s formal dance training started in Los Angeles with Lois Ellyn and other various artists in LA. In 1989, she moved to Arizona and started teaching dance when she was 16yrs old. She began studying dance at Brigham Young University in 1992 and earned a BA in Modern Dance in 1996. While at BYU, she performed and toured with the BYU Contemporary Dance Theater to various locations, including Australia, New Mexico, the Pacific Northwest, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. During this time, she also married the love of her life and HS sweetheart, Eric Aronsohn. Kerry taught dance at Rocky Mountain Ballet in UT while Eric finished his undergraduate degree and they started a family. In 1998, they moved back to AZ, where Kerry taught dance at a local studio and started the Dance Department at Mohave Community College, developing and teaching the first ballet and modern dance classes at that college. They later moved back to SLC for Eric’s graduate school and Kerry taught classes at various studios while their family grew to 4 children. Their next move was to Moses Lake in 2002. It is here that they have settled and stayed, raising 7 children.

Throughout the last 20 years, Kerry has taught dance for the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake, Today’s Generation, and AIM Gynmastics. In 2013, she performed with Impact Dance, an adult dance company in the Columbia Basin. Kerry has been teaching and choreographing dance for over 30 years and loves sharing her passion and talents with all ages.

TEACHERS ASSISTANT

I have been dancing for fourteen years and I have been a member of High Velocity Dance Company’s competition team for nine years. I have loved every moment that I have been able to dance and I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful studio. The dance styles that I have trained in include ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. I have taught a variety of dance classes including pre-ballet, pre-tap, beginning tap, and beginning lyrical. I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to share my passion for dance with my students and the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years. It is so rewarding to see each dancers progress and his or her newfound joy from learning the art of dance.

I have been a part of the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake family since 2008 when both of my daughters began dancing here! I love being around the studio and watching the growth of all of our dancers. I have have an Associates degree in Accounting from BBCC with over 15 years of experience. When not at the studio I love spending time traveling and camping with my family.
